JGA @ EO Boost

We are delighted to be the headline co sponsors of EO Boost

Why EO Boost

In a year where so much has changed because of Covid-19, the EOA has curated EO Boost to offer EOA members, other EO businesses, those exploring employee ownership and other interested stakeholders, the opportunity to top up or gain more current knowledge and insight about employee ownership in the UK in 2020.

JGA are delighted to continue their support of the Employee Ownership Association to enable a broad range of businesses to access this event. The mixture of keynote interviews, explorer sessions, and panels as well as speed seminars, offers the opportunity to engage with the EO community and learn from others. Networking and an advisor showcase are part of the experience, enabling access to a host of specialists and advisors supporting employee owned organisations and those considering transition or succession planning.

Jeremy Gadd, Founder J Gadd Associates, explained how important he felt the event was this year.

“The EOA have been championing the cause for employee ownership for years, and rightly so! At a time when the focus on business values and purpose has been further highlighted, we felt it was vital to offer our support. We firmly believe that employee ownership offers the opportunity of a better way of doing business, and engaging with co owners is at the heart of this.

This virtual event potentially has the broadest reach to date, and we want to ‘do our bit’ in ensuring awareness and understanding of employee ownership models grows, enabling even more to explore the expertise and opportunities available.

We hope our co sponsorship with Postlethwaites will enable the virtual event to provide an experience where everything employee owned can be explored and shared more widely than ever before.”

Philippa reflects on what EO Boost meant and how it is good to share

Philippa Meaden

Philippa Meaden

During late November, I was taking part along with the rest of the JGA team in the virtual EO boost event.  A great opportunity for anyone wanting to understand or further their knowledge around all matters relating to employee ownership.

The event hosted by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) was a great demonstration of how we can all adapt and use opportunity rather than see challenge.

Elevating the noise around employee ownership, sharing findings around resilience and the positives that can often be seen in eo businesses is a great message to end the year on and I hope all those thinking about succession were able to join in some of the conversations and take away the messages provide by those who have already make the transition.

A great event,  thank you EOA and here’s to 2021.

Daily explorer sessions

Jeremy-Gadd2019.jpg

Jeremy and Robert Postlethwaite were joined by David Sproxton and Val King in a series of sessions aimed at those exploring the potential to transition to an employee ownership model.

Philippa Meaden and Garry Davis were on hand for the question and answer sessions to provide more detail and share their experience.

As Lead Associates both have supported organisations through transition planning, understand the challenges faced and bring their experience on how to prepare everyone to get the best possible outcomes.

Day two - kicked off a day full of sessions that saw a number of our clients share their experiences and advice. Aber Instruments where we provided coaching support, whilst we supported The Rooflight Company through their transition. Our early work with the The 1:1 Diet team helped them get on track with their EO plans. Finally - an amazing presentation from the BCS team showcasing our approach with them to shaping their partner council.

Day three - certainly finished with a bang. Hearing how Seetec have been getting on since their transition to EO was great, especially as we were part of their advisers support team. The explorer track session lifted the lid on founders reflections after their transitions; Smile Together CIC left us with some nuggets of advice on leading and managing co owners. There was a buzz from the Glide session on effective representation and Mindworks shared hints and tips on how to maximise the EO difference for your business. All rounded off with a broad engaging discussion about wider social impacts, purpose and building back to a better economy.
