Libby Unsworth
Executive Coach
“It’s not often I talk about myself and I used to find it uncomfortable. I found it hugely useful to talk about me and have Libby point me in the right direction for reflection on my skills. My self-belief has sky-rocketed and I am now far more confident in my strengths and how I can progress my career. I often worry about the next step and if I can do it - now I feel completely confident I can step up. The key for me has been seeing my strengths for what they are as a leader and stop wasting time thinking I am not as good as others. I have got to where I am because of my strengths and what the company sees in me and I am confident that whilst still improving, I am a good leader and will continue to be at a higher level.”

Introduction
People are fascinating and Libby spends her time investing in the relationship with her coachees. Libby will work together to set your goals and it is her job to help you work towards and achieve these. Your sessions will be confidential, in a safe, sometimes challenging, environment but above all, you will trust each other. A successful coaching relationship depends on this. With her support, you would hope to see some, if not all, of these benefits as a result of working together:
Increased confidence in your role or in facing specific challenges
A clearer sense of your strengths and how to use them effectively
Improvements in key relationships at work and elsewhere
Greater well-being and sense of control or balance in work and life
Experience
Most of Libby’s career has been spent working for the John Lewis Partnership. Libby held several management positions and a large part of her last role involved coaching individuals to work through the challenges they faced at work either personally or with their teams. Sometimes ‘life’ contributed to these challenges.
Libby finds that giving people the space to talk and offload in a confidential environment has often been enough to get them back on track. Along with being a good listener, she is able to question decisions with care and compassion, help individuals unpack their thoughts and enable them to move on.
After leaving John Lewis Libby studied for the Henley Business School Professional Certificate in Coaching which embedded coaching theory with practical experience. Libby has since worked with many middle and senior managers in industry, helping them to work through their own challenges on the way to achieving their goals - whatever and wherever they may be.
